M ANT ΓOPΔIANOC KAIC Bare head of Gordian III to right, drapery on left shoulder; on neck, countermark of ς within round incuse (revalued as a hexassarion). Rev. HPAKΛЄΩTAN ΠONTΩ Athena standing front, head to right, holding owl in her left hand and spear with her right. RG p. 377, 209 var. (as Augustus). SNG von Aulock 419-420. For countermark, Howgego 809. Very rare. Very fine.
